Mr Constantinos Bitounis, FICS, Senior Associate, Holman Fenwick Willan International LLP.

After studying in the UK (Coventry and UCL) and qualifying to the Bar of England and Wales, he worked between 2000 and 2006 in a London law firm specialising in shipping and international trade, re-qualifying as a solicitor in 2004. He returned to Greece in 2006 as Head of the Legal Department in a major ship management company in Piraeus, acquiring over the course of 4 years particular insight and expertise in operational and ISM matters. He established a private shipping law practice and since 2015 run the Piraeus based office of a British law firm. Constantinos joined HFW in April 2019 as a Senior Associate in the litigation team of the firm’s Piraeus office. He has extensive experience in handling a wide range of shipping disputes, both Dry and Admiralty, with a keen commercially minded approach.

Additionally, from 2003 to 2005 he taught Evidence law at Kings College London and was the Shipping Law Examiner at the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers for 2005 and 2006. He also lectures on English shipping law at the Hellenic Branch of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers in Piraeus. Constantinos is qualified in England and Wales and with the Athens Bar Association. He speaks fluent English and Greek.
