First day of Shipping in Action 2025 has officially set sail!

We are delighted to welcome students to the opening day of the Shipping in Action Summer School 2025, co-organised by the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers Greek Branch and ALBA Graduate Business School.

The programme brings together recent graduates of maritime studies, young professionals, and students from Greece and abroad, offering them a unique opportunity to gain insight into the international shipping industry right at the heart of the Greek maritime hub.

The first day featured a warm welcome by Spyros Vougious (ALBA) and Stavroula Tape (ICS), followed by an insightful session led by Ilias Bissias, Director of Naftika Chronika and ALBA Visiting Lecturer, on The Greek Paradigm, Strategies and Policies in Shipping.

This was followed by another engaging session on “Introduction to Shipping Management”, delivered by Epaminondas Kalinderis, Technical Director of Optimum Shipmanagement, who shared valuable perspectives from the technical and operational side of the industry.

Throughout the week, participants will take part in interactive lectures, company visits, and hands-on experiences, fostering strong educational synergies between academic institutions and the shipping sector.
