The 4th Masterclass Lecture organized by the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers and the Baltic Exchange, took place in Greece, on Wednesday 27 March 2019 at the premises of the ICS Greek Branch in Piraeus.

The Lecture was presented by Mr Phoebus Kaloudis, AMN Bulk Carriers Inc, who covered the financial considerations that principals make, how they can impact decisions and their activity in the physical market. He highlighted through FFAs, currency and other related commodity markets, common structures used by counterparts to limit book uncertainty when trading in volatile markets and how these external factors can influence physical freight markets and fixtures.

The event was well attended by Members of the Baltic Exchange and the ICS. They had the chance to network and exchange views and ideas on this very complex but interesting topic.

The 5th and last of this year’s Masterclass lectures, will take place on 29 May 2019 and the topic to be covered is “The impact of China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI/OBOR)”.

More information will follow shortly.
