ICS Greek Branch Participated in Posidonia Exhibition 2024
The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) Greek Branch is proud to announce its successful participation in the Posidonia Exhibition 2024, the world’s foremost international shipping exhibition. Held at the Athens Metropolitan Expo, June 3-7, Posidonia 2024 set new records for the number of exhibitors and visitors! Posidonia 2024 provided a unique platform for maritime professionals and stakeholders to exchange knowledge, network, and discuss the future of the industry.
As part of our commitment to fostering excellence in maritime education, the ICS Greek Branch showcased a range of professional maritime courses and training programs. Our booth attracted a variety of visitors, including young students, graduates, and professionals seeking continuous development, all eager to learn more about our offerings and the latest trends in maritime education.
In addition to our exhibition activities, we were honored to be a part of the Round Table Discussions at the “YES to Shipping Forum”, dedicated to Young Executives & Students, which took place at the Posidonia Conference Hall on Friday 7th of June, and provided an invaluable opportunity for young students to gain insights from industry leaders and experts. Our participation in these discussions underscored our dedication to engage with the next generation of maritime professionals. We extend our gratitude to the organizers for creating such an impactful event.
Moreover, the ICS Greek Branch actively participated in the Posidonia 5×5 ShipSoccer Tournament on June 2, 2024. Our team took part in this athletic event with enthusiasm reflecting our commitment to team spirit and healthy competition.
We would like to congratulate the organizers of the Posidonia Exhibition for their exceptional efforts in making this event a remarkable success. Posidonia 2024 was probably the most successful in its history, showcasing groundbreaking innovations and fostering invaluable connections within the global maritime community.

ICS Team to Compete in the 8th Posidonia Shipsoccer Tournament 2024.
We are excited to participate in the Posidonia 5×5 Shipsoccer Tournament on June 2, 2024, the event preceding Posidonia 2024 International Shipping Exhibition. Our soccer team is already engaged in training sessions, demonstrating commitment and team spirit!

ICS Greek Branch participated at the Posidonia Running Event 2022
ICS Greek Branch participated at the Posidonia Running Event on the occasion of the Posidonia Exhibition 2022. The event took place on Sunday 5th of June in Piraeus, highlighting the importance of the Greek shipping capital for the global maritime community.
The streets of Piraeus welcomed more than 1500 international and local running fanatics from the shipping industry to join forces and run for a good cause. Proceeds of the race were again donated to the Municipality of Piraeus and the Public Benefit Municipal Corporation of Piraeus.
Staff and Members of the Greek Branch run at the 5km race and enjoyed the event!

Posidonia Conference 2022: “Human Resources in the Shipping Industry: Redefining Skills for the future”
The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers Greek Branch organized a conference session “Human Resources in the Shipping Industry: Redefining Skills for the future”, in the frame of Posidonia 2022.
On Tuesday, 7th of June, distinguished executives of the shipping industry shared their insights into the future of shipping and evolve on the changes in the talent needed by shipping companies. Many young students, graduates and junior professionals who sought to learn more for the roles and skills of tomorrow attended the Conference. All speakers highlighted the importance of the shipping industry for the Greek economy and for the creation of many new jobs and career opportunities to thousands of young people.
The session focused on the trending topic of soft skills for maritime professionals, especially in the era of digitalization and sustainable development. Such skills and competences can make a candidate distinguish among professionals and can become the critical factor for finding a job in the shipping industry.
ICS Greek branch acknowledged the support of Greek shipping companies for the continuous education of its workforce and emphasized the role of the ICS Professional Maritime Programme in enhancing the professional identity of young candidates and integrating them into the shipping community.

At the Posidonia Exhibition 2016, 28 teams of shipping executives, organized into 4 groups, engaged in spirited competition for the coveted Posidonia Shipsoccer trophies in a 5×5 format.
The ICS Greek Branch soccer team proudly participated in the highly anticipated five-a-side Posidonia Shipsoccer Tournament, while several of our students and staff members took part in the Posidonia Running Event. Congratulations to all involved for your dedication and enthusiasm!
