Exploring Maritime Industry: Career and Education Opportunities

On Thursday, May 16, the ICS Greek Branch had the pleasure of participating in the event on “Exploring Shipping: Career and Education Opportunities in the Industry” organized for the students at the University of Macedonia. The event was organized by the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) Greek Branch in collaboration with the Department of Business Administration and the Career Office of the University of Macedonia. The event, titled “Exploring Maritime Industry: Career and Education Opportunities” witnessed a significant attendance from current students and alumni of the university.

Held virtually via Zoom, the event was designed to introduce participants to the dynamic and multifaceted world of maritime. It highlighted the sector’s significance in the global economy and presented the various career opportunities available. Additionally, attendees gained valuable insights into professional education and certification programs that can help kickstart their careers in maritime. After the session, participants had a better understanding of how a professional qualification can enhance their career prospects and provide a competitive edge in the job market.

The atmosphere was warm and engaging, fostering constructive discussions, not only enlightening the attendees about the potential career paths in maritime but also inspired many to consider pursuing a future in this vital sector.
