ICS Greek Branch and ICS Middle East Branch Host Successful Webinar on Digital Chartering

The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) Greek Branch, in collaboration with the ICS Middle East Branch, successfully hosted the webinar “Digital Chartering in Practice: Efficiency & Legal Aspects,” bringing together more than 100 ICS members from across the world.

The event highlighted the growing role of digitalisation in chartering operations, while also examining the legal implications and potential risks that accompany the adoption of new digital tools and platforms within the shipping industry.

Participants had the opportunity to hear from distinguished industry professionals; Janani Yagnamurthy, Vice President at Marcura and Fellow Member of the Institute, shared valuable insights on the practical application of digital solutions in chartering and how they can enhance operational efficiency. While  Dr Konstantinos Kofopoulos, Senior Associate at Holman Fenwick Willan, and tutor of shipping law at the ICS Greek Branch, addressed the legal considerations arising from digitalisation in chartering processes.

The webinar demonstrated the strong collaboration among ICS branches and reflected the Institute’s commitment to supporting the continuous professional development of its international membership.

The organisers expressed their sincere appreciation to the speakers for their contributions and to the ICS Middle East Branch for their excellent cooperation in delivering this successful joint initiative.

The ICS Greek Branch looks forward to organising more events that bring together maritime professionals and provide valuable insights into the evolving landscape of the shipping industry.
