ICS & BALTIC MASTERCLASS LECTURE: The Music of Arbitration; Keeping your Disputes in Tone
The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers and the Baltic Exchange organized the final lecture of the series 2018-2019 on Wednesday 29th of May 2019, at the premises of the ICS Greek Branch in Piraeus.
The topic was “The Music of Arbitration; Keeping your Disputes in Tone”, covered by the guest speaker, Mr Jonathan Elvey, Maritime Arbitrator and Mediator. Mr Elvey was the Managing Partner of Ince & Co’s Piraeus office for many years and was with the firm for nearly 40 years as a litigator.
During the Masterclass Lecture, Mr Elvey talked about arbitration and the best ways to prepare and present cases, and how to deal with risks and pitfalls. His input was valuable and innovative as everything was presented with the aid of a piano!
The lecture was well attended and free for all Members of Baltic Exchange, Members and Students of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers. After the seminar guests had the chance to network and exchange views on the topic, during a cocktail reception.
The Baltic and ICS Masterclass Lectures are a truly global event, taking place – on the same time – at Shanghai, Singapore, Piraeus and London. They deliver to their members great benefits by providing industry insight with world class speakers.
We will soon announce the start of the 3rd Annual Lecture Series (Sept 2019- May 2020) and weare looking forward to welcoming you again!
