Hellenic Management Centre represents the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers since 2003. HMC is the official educational provider of ICS in Greece and provides continuous professional training for maritime practitioners through the ICS Syllabus and Qualifications. It is also the administrator of the ICS Greek Branch, building and enhancing relationships between members of the Greek Shipping Community and the international shipping market.

The Institute was founded in 1911 and awarded with two Royal Charter in 1920 and 1947 respectively.

The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers is the only internationally recognised professional body in the commercial maritime arena and it represents all aspects of the shipping business and includes in its membership not only shipbrokers but shipowners, charterers, agents, forwarders and other shipping professionals
With 26 branches in key locations, 4,000 individual Members and Fellows, over 110 centres throughout the world, around 5,000 candidates sitting its examinations, the Institute’s qualification remains the unique hallmark of professionalism in the world of shipping business.

ICS EDUCATION
Since 2003, HMC is exclusively authorized to provide the ICS Syllabus and Examinations in Greece, through the ICS Annual Professional Maritime Programme.
With a reputation for providing a first-class education and professional development to the shipping profession, HMC’ s training programme prepares the candidates to sit for the Institute’s Professional Qualifying Examinations, which confer a status not equaled elsewhere in the industry.
HMC is the most rapidly evolving Institute’s Teaching Centre internationally.
HMC is the role model branch among the Institute’s Teaching Centres.
With more than 2,000 students over these years, HMC is now ranked 1st within the ICS Teaching Centers and has been awarded with the title ‘’ Role Model Branch’’. For the 3rd year, the Greek Exam Centre is ranked 1st within the ICS Examination Centres with more than 300 students taking the ICS Examinations every year.

ICS MEMBERSHIP
The Greek Branch of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers has been administered by HMC since 2005.
The long-standing relationship of Greeks with the shipping business and the Institute of Chartered Shipbroker’s, going back in the days when Greek Shipowners and Shipping Professionals took the ICS examinations in London, was a determinant factor of establishing the Institute’s Branch in Greece.
The Branch was established by Natalia Margioli, Managing Director of HMC and Fellow Member of the Institute along with a team of Members and Fellows of the Institute. The office is at HMC Premises in the heart of Piraeus.
Chairman of the Greek Branch is Mr Nicolas A. Tsavliris, FICS.
With more than 400 Members and Fellows, the ICS Greek Branch is one of the largest Branches of the Institute and its membership represents various aspects of the shipping world; Ship-owning, Chartering, Cargo Trading, Broking, Agency, Surveying, Shipping Finance, Legal, Insurance, Technical, Off-shore supply, Ship Operations, etc.
The Branch activities include Continuous Professional Development Courses and seminars, networking events, social gatherings, corporate training, etc.
