Navigating the Future of Shipping: Why the ICS Qualification Matters More Than Ever
Registrations Open for the ICS Professional Maritime Programme 2025–2026
In an industry as dynamic and demanding as shipping, continuous learning is no longer optional – it’s essential. As the global maritime landscape evolves, professionals across all sectors are expected to not only stay informed but to demonstrate a level of competence and professionalism that stands up to international scrutiny.
With this in mind, the Hellenic Management Centre (HMC) / Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) Greek Branch is pleased to announce that registrations for the ICS Professional Maritime Programme 2025–2026 are now open, with the course starting in September 2025.
The Highest Standard in Maritime Education
The ICS qualification has long been recognized as the benchmark for excellence in commercial shipping. Established in 1911, the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers is the only internationally recognized professional body in the maritime field, and its qualification is globally respected by employers, shipowners, charterers, and regulatory bodies alike.
The programme is more than just an academic pursuit; it is a strategic investment in professional credibility. In an era where regulations, technologies, and market conditions are constantly shifting, the ICS qualification equips professionals with the knowledge, analytical thinking, and confidence to make sound decisions and lead with clarity.
Lifelong Learning for a Complex Industry
To remain competitive, professionals must continuously upgrade their skills. The ICS program bridges theory and practice, offering insights that are immediately applicable.
Participants will delve into key areas of the shipping business including chartering, ship operations, S&P, maritime law, marine insurance, port agency, shipping finance and more—all taught by industry experts who bring real-world experience into the classroom.
