The Hellenic Management Centre (HMC) / Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) Greek Branch is pleased to announce that registrations are now open for the ICS Professional Maritime Programme 2026–2027, commencing in September 2026.

The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers has been promoting professionalism in commercial shipping since 1911. Its qualifications are internationally recognised and highly regarded by shipping companies, shipowners, charterers, shipbrokers and maritime professionals worldwide.

The ICS Professional Maritime Programme provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of the commercial, legal and operational aspects of shipping, while preparing them for the ICS Professional Qualifying Examinations.

Successful completion of the examinations leads towards ICS Membership, a professional distinction that demonstrates knowledge, competence and commitment to the highest standards of the international shipping industry.

Practical Knowledge for a Changing Industry

The programme is designed to bridge academic knowledge with practical industry application. Through lectures delivered by experienced shipping professionals and ICS tutors, participants develop the analytical skills, commercial awareness and industry understanding required to respond effectively to real shipping challenges. The curriculum covers key areas of the maritime industry, including: Chartering, Ship Operations and Management, Economics of Sea Transport and International Trade, Maritime Law, Marine Insurance, Ship Sale and Purchase, Shipping Finance etc. The knowledge gained throughout the programme can be applied directly within the professional environment, helping participants strengthen their performance and progress in their careers.

The learning experience extends well beyond the formal lectures on commercial shipping topics. Participants attend a total of seven subjects over two academic semesters, combining compulsory and specialised modules in accordance with the ICS Professional Qualifying Examination structure.

• Format: Face-to-face in Piraeus or live online
• Schedule: Two evening sessions per week
• Hours: 19:00–21:30
