EXAMINATIONS

Upon completion of the ICS Annual Professional Maritime Programme, candidates have the following examination options:

  • null
    Professional Qualifying Examinations (PQE)

    It comprises 7 examinations (4 compulsory and 3 optional) which you can do over five years and lead to ICS Membership and full qualification.

  • null
    Advanced Diploma (AD)

    Consists of Shipping Business examination plus Economics of Sea Transport or Legal Principles in Shipping Busines or one (1) elective module.

    AD can be selected when the candidates are not able to sit all seven modules in one examination period but wish to take the first step towards ICS Membership.

  • null
    Foundation Diploma (FD)

    Consists of Introduction to Shipping examination plus Economics of Sea Transport or Legal Principles in Shipping Business or one (1) elective module.

    Foundation Diploma is a standalone qualification which counts towards your membership examinations (PQE).

EXEMPTIONS

Candidates with relevant professional or educational qualifications may apply for exemptions from a maximum of three (3) exams, by submitting the Exemption Application Form and the relevant documentation via www.shipbrokers.org.

Exemption Fees: The exemption fee is 195 pounds per subject.

The results of the ICS Professional Qualifying Examinations November 2023 will be published on February 22nd, 2024!

Final deadline for registration for November 2023 Exams:  19 October 2023

Deadline for deferment, exam centre or subject changes: 26 October 2023

November 2023 exam period: 20-30 November 2023

November 2023 Exam Results published: 22 February 2024

 

MAY 2024 EXAM SESSION

Final deadline for registration for May 2024 Exams:  11 April 2024

Deadline for deferment, exam centre or subject changes: 18 April 2024
(no further changes or deferments will be allowed after this date)

May 2024 exam period: 13-23 May 2024

May 2024 Exam Results published: 22 August 2024
