EXAMINATIONS

Upon completion of the ICS Annual Professional Maritime Programme, candidates have the following examination options:

  • null
    Professional Qualifying Examinations (PQE)

    It comprises 7 examinations (4 compulsory and 3 optional) which you can do over five years and lead to ICS Membership and full qualification.

  • null
    Advanced Diploma (AD)

    Consists of Shipping Business examination plus Economics of Sea Transport or Legal Principles in Shipping Busines or one (1) elective module.

    AD can be selected when the candidates are not able to sit all seven modules in one examination period but wish to take the first step towards ICS Membership.

  • null
    Foundation Diploma (FD)

    Consists of Introduction to Shipping examination plus Economics of Sea Transport or Legal Principles in Shipping Business or one (1) elective module.

    Foundation Diploma is a standalone qualification which counts towards your membership examinations (PQE).

EXEMPTIONS

Candidates with relevant professional or educational qualifications may apply for exemptions from a maximum of three (3) exams, by submitting the Exemption Application Form and the relevant documentation via www.shipbrokers.org.

Exemption Fees: The exemption fee is 190 pounds per subject.

Deadline for “Back to School” Discount: 13 September 2022

Final deadline for registration for November 2022 Exams:  11 October 2022

Deadline for deferment, exam centre or subject changes: 20 October 2022
(no further changes or deferments will be allowed after this date)

November 2022 exam week: 14-24 November 2022

November 2022 Exam Results published: 23 February 2023

 

MAY 2023 EXAM SESSION

Final deadline for registration for May 2023 Exams:  13 April 2023

(no further changes or deferments will be allowed after this date)

May 2023 exam week: 15-25 May 2023
