{"id":8640,"date":"2026-10-12T17:44:13","date_gmt":"2026-10-12T14:44:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/helmc.com\/?p=8640"},"modified":"2026-10-12T17:44:16","modified_gmt":"2026-10-12T14:44:16","slug":"greek-maritime-excellence-celebrated-at-the-institute-of-chartered-shipbrokers-annual-prize-giving-ceremony-2026-in-london","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/helmc.com\/el\/greek-maritime-excellence-celebrated-at-the-institute-of-chartered-shipbrokers-annual-prize-giving-ceremony-2026-in-london\/","title":{"rendered":"Greek Maritime Excellence Celebrated at the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers Annual Prize Giving Ceremony 2026 in London"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) Greek Branch proudly celebrates the outstanding achievements of two Greek prize winners who received three prestigious awards at the <strong>Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers Annual Prize Giving Ceremony 2026<\/strong>, held on Thursday, 8 October 2026, at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The annual ceremony is one of the Institute&#8217;s most significant international events, bringing together distinguished members of the global shipping community, industry professionals, maritime organisations, and students from across the ICS international network to recognise outstanding academic achievement in the Institute&#8217;s professional examinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This year&#8217;s ceremony was particularly significant for the Greek maritime community, with <strong>Spyridon Chandras and Pavlina Koulouridi<\/strong>, both candidates from Athens, receiving international recognition for their exceptional performance in the ICS Professional Qualifying Examinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Three International Awards for Greek Maritime Talent<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Spyridon Chandras<\/strong> distinguished himself by receiving two prestigious awards:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Baltic Exchange Award<\/strong> \u2013 Presented to the candidate achieving the highest marks in Dry Cargo Chartering in the ICS Qualifying Examinations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Reed Smith LLP Award<\/strong> \u2013 Presented to the candidate achieving the highest marks in Legal Principles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Pavlina Koulouridi<\/strong> was honoured with the:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>John O&#8217;Keeffe Award<\/strong> \u2013 Presented to the candidate achieving the highest marks in Ship Sales and Purchases.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These distinctions are particularly noteworthy as the awards recognise the highest-performing candidates across the ICS international examination system, placing the Greek winners among the Institute&#8217;s leading students worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Recognising Excellence and Investing in the Future of Shipping<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The achievements of the Greek prize winners reflect the importance of professional maritime education and continuous learning in an industry characterised by increasing complexity, evolving regulations, technological developments and changing global trade dynamics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, an internationally recognised professional body for the commercial shipping industry, plays a vital role in promoting professional standards, specialist maritime knowledge and lifelong learning through its educational programmes, professional qualifications and international network of branches and members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through its educational activities and professional development initiatives, the ICS Greek Branch remains committed to supporting maritime professionals at every stage of their careers, providing access to internationally recognised qualifications and contributing to the continued development of Greece&#8217;s maritime human capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A Message from ICS Vice-President Natalia Margioli FICS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>&#8220;The achievements of our Greek prize winners are a powerful reminder of the talent, dedication and professionalism that characterise our maritime community.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Recognition at an international level reflects not only individual academic excellence, but also the importance of investing in professional maritime education.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>As Vice-President of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, I am particularly proud to celebrate the achievements of the outstanding students from across our global network.
