The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers Greek Branch and the Baltic\nExchange held for their Members their 3rd<\/sup> Masterclass Seminar\n(Series3) and the cutting of the traditional Vasilopita on Tuesday, 11th<\/sup>\nof February 2020<\/strong> at Piraeus Marine Club. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 3rd <\/sup>Masterclass Seminar, part of\nthe joint lectures organized by ICS and Baltic Exchange for the 3rd<\/sup>\nyear and in 4 locations worldwide, was on “The Evolution of Ship\nRecycling\u201d<\/strong>. The guest speaker, Dr. Konstantinos Galanis, <\/strong>Director,\nDido Shipping Co. SA, Chairman of International Ship Recycling Association,\nshared his ideas with the audience regarding the progress made in Ship\nRecycling, with respect to the Entry-into-force of Hong Kong Convention, but\nalso due to transformation of the economic and environmental impact related to\nthis fourth pillar of shipping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the Seminar, both organizations cut\nthe Vasilopita, to mark the New Year with aspirations of happiness, success and\ncreativity! Members, shipping\npractitioners, friends and colleagues had the opportunity to network and\nexchange their views on several shipping matters at the cocktail\nreception that followed.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lucky\nwinners of “the flouri” (lucky coin on the pie) were Karagkouni Konstantina MICS and Grapsas Nikolaos,\nFICS who won a beautiful painting created from the children of \u201cARGO”,\nthe Association of Naval Parents of Children with Special Needs.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Baltic\nExchange and ICS are sister organisations and work under the common motto \u201cOur\nWord, our Bond\u2019\u2019; a business ethic\nmotto imparts confidence into the industry worldwide. Joint lectures and events prove their\nlong-standing and traditional relation dated back in the middle ages of\nMaritime Profession at the City of London. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
